FASHION GRADUATE AKOAH TSIBO-TAKYE
Suzy, Akoah became inclined towards art and design in high school. Continuing to pursue these interests led to her enrollment in Radford University College to pursue a degree in Fashion Design. Designers like Roberto Cavalli and Oscar de la Renta are favourites of hers, and she sees herself moving into fashion engineering – solving problems within the fashion design process to develop new ways of incorporating cutting edge tools and methods into creations. Suzy draws from her love of nature’s colours and shapes, specifically the colourful and undefined shapes found in plants. Her unique view is that the first humans on earth used parts of plants as covering, and this was the birth of fashion; plants conceal and reveal blossoms.
